Issue with Remote Locking on 2014 Jazz Gen 2

Hi all,
first post here, pleased to join the team. Got myself a Jazz a few months ago and it has been lovely!
She's a 2014 Jazz Gen2 GG3 in beautiful grayish brown colour. Solid maintenance history and a mere 40k km on the clock!

However, a strange issue cropped up a few days ago. I can unlock the car remotely using the key fob, BUT I can't lock it remotely.
The car locks fine using the keyhole manually.
Seems like the issue is with the car, not the key fob itself; the problem persists even when using my missus's key fob.

I've checked that all the doors and the hood are properly closed. The drive computer agrees with this.
I reprogrammed the fobs hoping that this would reset a possible glitch in the system but no dice.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Cheers in advance!

You sure none of the door switch is stuck or something? I think that if the cars thinks one door isn't closed, it won't lock. Could be the problem or not, but worth looking into.

Thank you for the reply!

That indeed does sound like the most reasonable cause for this...
However, I checked all the doors and their exposed mechanisms carefully and all seemed good.
When I lock manually, all doors do close like they should. The drive computer also registers all doors closing/opening properly.

Just went out to check the fuses and the issue seems to have magically disappeared.
Didn't even touch the car, just tried locking and unlocking as I walked to the lot and all was good again! Eerie...

If (/when) the issue comes back and I'll find a reason for this I'll be sure to let all of yous know !

Maybe one of the door switch was stuck and unstucked when closing/opening the door?

You can move those switches by hand and easily check if the dome light turns off or not when doing so. You'll know they work and you'll know if they all move freely.

EDIT: Door switch is not located on the door itself, but on the body of the car (door jam?). Sorry if I don't have the right word, my primary language is French...

Ah yes I see what you mean! ☺️
While I did check those switches for being stuck I didn’t pay attention to the dome lights. I’ll be sure to do so if the problem returns.

Once again thank you for the support and he tips!

Just picked up a 2011 for my daughter 2 days ago. Was getting the same behavior from the driver's door. Saw another post on here that also pointed me to the door switch, and sure enough that is definitely my problem. The interior edge of her drivers door is dented just enough, in just the right place, so that it doesn't make good contact with the door switch. Looks to me like it got shut with the seat belt buckle between the door and the jamb to cause the dent. I tried shortening the rubber door stop pads to minimum length, but it wasn't enough. For now, I just taped a folded over piece of cardboard to the interior edge of the door - adds enough material to make good contact with the switch. Will have to come up with a more permanent solution, but this works for the moment.

As was mentioned, it's easy to operate the door switch by hand with the door open, and test the locking behavior with the remote while doing so, to verify that's the problem.

For what it's worth, the dome light on my 2011 stays on for a bit after the door switch is 'closed' (as a courtesy light I think), but shuts off immediately when the lock button on the remote is activated.
