Please help me identify the hose I found on my 2013 Honda Fit. I was doing some simple maintenance when I noticed this hose which is just right of the air intake, almost under the air intake.
Could I have broken the hose's connection when I was using a shop vac? There were signs of previous rodent nesting that I needed to vacuum.
The hose clearly has dark gunk within it.
I am concerned that this is spewing gunk. All of the lightbulb connections were coated in black gunk.
Thank you.
I've circled the hose in question with a virtual light green marker. Enhance Enhance Enhanced photo of the hose connection
Looks like the transmission breather? It's there to let the air pressure inside the transmission stay the same as outside. Otherwise the pressure difference might push fluid past the driveshaft seals and such. Just tuck it down so the end of the hose is pointing downward to prevent rain water from flowing into the transmission.
