Do you have a Hatch fuse in spot 45?
2012 Fit hatch stopped locking. I inspected the actuator and it seemed to function. The actuator unlocked but did not lock. I opened the fuse box and noticed there is no fuse in spot 45 which is the Hatch Release Actuator. I put a 7.5w fuse in that spot and the hatch started locking again. Question is, how was the hatch locking without the fuse for the last 13 years?
Backstory to this is the driver door wouldn't always unlock with remote so I replaced the driver door actuator. After replacement, all doors locked and unlocked with remote but hatch would not lock.
Even though I solved the issue by plugging in a fuse into the Hatch Release Actuator spot 45, I still want to understand this phenomenon to prevent future issues. Seems the car did not come with the fuse but the trunk locked all these years anyways.

Are you the original owner? I wonder if shady previous mechanics jumped the fuse and that jumper finally wiggled free? It should lock all the time assuming completed circuit, there's no 'alternative' way to lock the car.
I have a '13 sport and do not have a fuse in spot 45. But looking at at a picture of the Honda factory fusebox diagram, there are no fuses in eleven spots in the fusebox. Spots 4, 25, 31, 40, 41, 42, 45, 46, 53, 55, and 62 all came from the factory with no fuses. These spots do not have fuses and are not marked/ identified with amp ratings or a wiring harness id- they're just not labeled at all.
I'm very curious about this as my 2013 locks stopped opening with key fob, with the hatch stopping shortly before the rest. I received a tailgate latch replacement for product testing (something I do on the side) and came here to see if it was the same as the lock actuator. Looks like the same part.
