Doors won’t lock with key in ignition , car doesn’t have to be running , just the key inserted. If I start the car with them locked I can unlock them, but not relock them. It’s my daughter’s car so I only find out things when she tells me. I was doing other work and seen the key fob wasn’t working. Thought it was a battery but seen the door open light staying on on the dash so I’m assuming it’s a door switch. Replacing all four this weekend. Today she mentioned the not locking issue. Can it have been like this due to the bad switch and she not noticed ? And I tried reprogramming the auto lock features but still the same issue.

 

If the open door light is on, the door locks won't work. The solution will be to find which door is causing the light to stay on.
