Can you use a motor from a automatic car
Basically you can swap the "long block", just assume you'll have to strip the motor you got out of the car and put the parts and accessories on the new motor, I found that the harbor freight hydraulic table cart is super handy for a place to work on the motor.

I used this to swap the engine out of my 911 when I sent it in for rebuild, since the engine had to go out and in from the bottom. (I was using a portable lift with about 4 feet of lift capacity and the cart will lift high enough to make going back in easy, I's recommend this for transmission work on a lot of cars. Its just a handy portable table in the garage..
