Splash guard missing

Just got a 2009 a week or so ago. There seems to be a large square section on the splash guard under the engine that's missing but from several YouTube videos I've been watching that seems to almost be the norm. Is there supposed to be a section directly under the engine? Car is headed for Utah, im thinking the salty roads there could cause issues without it. Thanks!

Normal. Not really a problem, even in salty Canadian winter!

EDIT: If you really want one, I think you can fit the CRZ cover. Search on here...

I don't think the 2009-2013 Fit came with a central splash guard, at least in the US.
My 2010, which my brother bought with low miles in 2012, doesn't have one.
As Frenzal said, if you really want one there are posts here where folks have modified a CRZ guard to fit. I have considered doing that but it always stays too far down the "To Do" list to ever get to.

My 2012 didn't have one either.

I bought the CRZ splash guard, but haven't found time to install it. I've only given it a quick look but it looks like you have to drill and/or modify many of the mounting holes or tabs to make it fit.
