The reason is those are the only colors that have made it so far. On a given day, they make one color. Some colors haven't seen their day yet!

damn midwest

I just emailed my salesman and he said it would still be a couple of weeks for the Kansas City area to see any 09s. Living in the bible belt sucks! We get everything last!

Just went to a crappy Honda Dealership here in SD. Asked if they had any 09's. They said there was one that came in yesterday and was sold immediately. Why am I not surprised? From the dealership history, whoever bought it probably sold their soul in order to pay for it.

Maybe I'm a litle slow, but what is wrong with them selling it immediately? That is kind of the point of their business.

Nothing's wrong with them selling immediately. Just like the 1st Gen Fits when I was buying them, they're going to be hard to find because they sell like hotcakes! That's why I wasn't surprised that they didn't have one for me to play with

Dealers were officially told that they would have the car by second week of September because that is how long it will take for first shipment to trickle to some of them in rural areas. Honda does not won't to keep dealers hanging beyond certain date. That is why they gave them end date and delivering early to most locations.
Dublin Honda manager stated that he had no word from corporate that truck was headed their way. He was told they would have one car in about 10 days at the morning of actual delivery. That is why I told him to read FF.net for Fit info! We have better sources than their official corporate communication.
I am surprised to see 3 '09 in Bellevue, WA! Truck driver that delivered stated that everybody is getting one car per dealership. Some dealers on his route were extremely pissed to get a stripped base model for a first delivery!

Some dealers will milk it with high mark up and build hype with lack of availability. They will collect deposits based on a displayed showroom model, use deposit as over the MSRP cost and add pin stripping they will charge an arm and a leg for! Some will just sell at MSRP and add accessories to charge for. Very few will actually be fair to the customers and sell them at MSRP without any BS. Same was true in '06 when first gen appeared.
It is just dollars and sense business as usual.

Ivan

what changed was the tire size: 16's used to rock 205/45/r16's, but for some reason, edmunds said that they are 185's...even skinnier than gd3 sport wheels! but according to them, they still grip harder than the gd3 does.

SAVED: ha ha, thanks man, i know it was long!

and i agree: the mark up is ridiculous, as its not a limited edition car.

but you know who we can thank for it? all the bubs putting down deposits on a car they have not driven yet, though i have no doubt it will exceed expectations. but still, you can thank most future 09 fit owners for the mark up.

hey, thanks for being so patient guys!

anywho, what more could you expect from a company that sells a 30k civic that doesn't peform 10k better than the model its based on?

I went to Howdy Honda today, which is where I've purchased my '92 Prelude Si, '93 Civic Ex Coupe, '99 Accord EX V6 Coupe, 2001 Honda S2000, and my fiance's 2006 Accord EX-L Coupe, as they called me to so I could come take a look at the first 2009 Fit that they got in. I took a bunch of pictures, so click here to see them.

Scott Robinson has them and I've seen them all over the Honda Campus in Torrance (where I work). SR had a red one... but still had other 08 fits on the lot... probably sold anyway

Still haven't seen one in the DC area. I've called several dealerships several times this week--no dice!!

Cars.com says that a few dealerships have them, but a quick call indicated otherwise. They must already be listing the VINs they have on order.

Anyone seen one at a DC metro area dealer? Or called a dealer and they said they had one ON THE LOT??

Just stopped by McKinney Honda in Gastonia, they had a NHBP sport auto navi it was back at PDI and it was still dirty but the car looks really good in person but that $19,000 window sticker was a bit shocking, I`m sure they won`t have any trouble selling it though. Can`t wait to see the SSM in person.

Excellent point about the stereo...really a bummer - lots of people change out their stock audio equipment but how would you do it???

It can be done... you kust have to buy the stadard cage that the Fit with Navi comes with... it`s a standard double DIN A bit better than the fist gen fit where you had to by the METRA kit or the Scorshe ( s/p? ) kit that didn`t fit right

Man, does that muffler look like a new school "Twin Loop" exhaust or is it just me?
