What Fit options would you pay for?

There's been a lot of talk about the cost of the Nav option and is it worth it. More than a few of us would pay for standalone VSA. So that got me to thinking, what options would you pay for if offered? Lets keep this real and since the Fit is a subcompact econo Honda, factory-installed turbo kits aren't realistic for this car.

My list...

1. standalone VSA
2. rear disc brakes
3. leather heated seats
4. sunroof (maybe)

Here's my list of options, in no particular order (doesn't mean that I'd order them, but rather they should be optional, and in some cases, standard):
  1. satellite radio (should at minimum be XM-ready)
  2. bluetooth (even the lowly Ford Focus has this)
  3. steering wheel mounted radio controls (should be standard on sport)
  4. VSA (should be available on all models, including base)
  5. sunroof and/or panoramic roof
  6. 4-wheel disc brakes (should be standard on Sport)
  7. 17" rims/tires
  8. diesel engine (w/more low-end torque and improved fuel economy)
  9. Si model (e.g., bigger motor, body cladding, and upgraded seats)
  10. height adjustable driver's seat (should be standard on all models)
  11. Small block V-8 or twin turbo

Sky Roof. I would pay an extra grand for it.

The skyroof for sure.

Is the question, "What Fit options would you pay for if you had excess cash?" or "What Fit options would you pay for being poor like I am?"

I'll second that statement.

I would also pay extra for VSA and agree with Silly Monkey that steering wheel mounted radio controls should be standard on sport (but I'd pay a bit extra to get them if it was an option). Leather would also be nice and would be on my list if it was available (almost decided on a Civic for that reason but need the utility of the Fit - and the Fit is so much more fun to drive ).

In order of importance to me:

(1) VSA
(2) bluetooth w/ steering mounted controls
(3) darker factory tint that blocks heat
(4) backup camera
(5) turning signal on side mirrors
(6) 8 way adjustable driver's seat, powered
(7) factory navi if it's made by Garmin and has live traffic info

Forgot about HID's... would consider paying for those depending on price.

Dunno if I'd pay for it, but I was kind of looking forward to those swivel seats that (I believe) the JDM offers. Plus of course the absurdly large sunroof. Just a couple of items that would have made it distinctive.

As silly as it seems, I'd pay for the volume/stereo controls on the wheel in Sports that do not have the Nav system. Use them all the time on our 07' Civic and can't believe you have to buy the Nav system to have them in an 09'. Oh well....

I'm with you mumdb1 -- I would gladly pay the upcharge for the wheel mounted radio controls. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that it's a nav only bundle. I'm curious as to how much the incremental cost would have been for Honda to either 1) include it on the sport; or 2) offer it as an option. If Honda is already producing the wiring harness and steering wheel for the nav model, I can't imagine that it would cost that much more on the non-nav -- heck, raise the sticker price by $100 and call it a day.

I realize Honda likes to keep things simple in terms of production, but I think there are a few oversights this year, which will likely bel addressed for the '10 model year. In the end, I've got to relax and look at the bigger picture -- overall, it's a phenomenal little car. Perhaps I've grown lazy over the years -- I suppose it won't kill me to reach over every now and then to adjust the volume or change the station.

Add me to the list for radio controls on the wheel. Once you're used to them, it becomes a necessity. But it is a lot safer than taking your eyes off the road and removing your hand from the wheel.

Not a big complaint or deal-breaker, especially on this amazing car.

I was disappointed about the lack of steering wheel audio controls too, but when I finally sat in the car I realized how close the dash controls are compared to other cars I've had. So it's not as big of a deal to me now.

However, if it turns out that you can buy the steering wheel buttons and install them easily, I would certainly do it.

Exclamation

In no particular order:

1. Standalone VSA.

2. Steering wheel mounted audio controls (the simplest, and easiest for this car now!).

3. Integrated sat. radio.

4. Sunroof (Seriously! Why isn't it there?).

5. All-wheel disc brakes.

6. 6th gear (overdrive) for manual tranny that would drop the rpm at 80 mph to ~2000 rpm. A "cruising gear".

7. Sidemarker turn signal indicators.

8. DIESEL!!!
