My First New Car - 2009 Blue Fit Sport MT
Hey all -
I just took delivery this morning of my Fit. So far its been wonderful, and I averaged about 42 MPG (on board computer) on the 120 mile drive from my Dealer to my house. I bought through Don Ayers Honda in Fort Wayne (as I previously mentioned) and worked with Denny Dubay and Rick Squires. It was a very smooth experience - buying groceries is more difficult.
I do have a question though. Can the automatic door unlock be switched to unlock ALL doors instead of just the driver's when the car is switched off? The owner's manual only mentions that the "driver's door" can be unlocked, which is fine about 80% of the time, but my wife and I carpool frequently and I would like all doors to open.
I'll try and figure out how to get pictures up tonight

Congrats on your new baby!
You're yet another one getting excellent mileage as seemingly all the 09 owners are.
Yes, you can adjust the auto lock/unlock to unlock the passenger door. It's in your manual under the power door lock section. It's a very simple and easy procedure. I don't remember off-hand so I don't want to give the wrong info.

Looking forward to hearing more about your fuel efficiency with the MT.
It will be interesting to hear if the mpg gauge jives with actual gas station fueling numbers. The initial reports are indicating that the gauge may be a bit optimistic.

I've had 2 fill-ups thus far. Both times the computer was 4 mpg higher than manual calculation. Another poster here recorded the same 4 mpg disparity. But the question is...which one is actually more accurate?
Still, even with the manual calculation method, I'm getting around 35 mpg in mixed driving, albeit driving like a grandma.

Congrats!
Btw, the auto unlock feature which unlocks only the driver side door can be viewed as a safety feature. Sometimes you dont want to stop your car and have all the doors auto unlock so someone can just randomly hop in - or worse.
My old car had an aftermarket system that auto unlocked all the doors, and my mother refused to drive it because she had to go to some unfriendly neighborhoods sometimes.
Ask your dealer to see if the system can be re-programmed in any way. They can be sometimes.
It's not so hard to press the unlock button 20% of the time :-)

First - genuine floormats. For some unexplainable reason, I bought garbage floormats from walmart and instantly regretted it. I returned them before I even left the store.
Second - Cargo cover
Third - Interior illumination
Fourth - JDM console

it would be the manual calculation right? but then again, even if you drive until almost empty, there is still gas in the tank, and thats included in the comps calculations.
