Sell my 04 S2k for an 09 fit?
Hi everyone. Just bought an 04 Silverstone S2k 2 months ago, I really like it. The wife and I are in the market for a bigger house so I was thinking about moving into a Fit to save a few bucks..tires, insurance, gas..Haven't really crunched the #'s yet. Oh yeah, my wife has an 07 Fit sport. Am I crazy? I'm just really digging the 09 Fits..but 2 of em? I dunno..

Crunch the numbers to make sure the "savings" you think you're going to get with the Fit will offset its immediate depreciation, whatever costs you're incurring on the the sale of your current house and the purchase of the new one, etc. While it would seem enticing to dump the S2k for the new Fit to save on gas, insurance, etc., in the short term, you might be saving very little... if anything at all.

I must repeat, run the numbers. Is it worth it too you. If i didn't have a long commute, kids, and dogs, I would have an S2K in a heart beat. Who wants to put an ass of miles with rock chips and dents on an S2K, where do the kids go again???
Remember that the mpg should be based off your driving style and conditions. You may get better or WORSE than the estimated EPA. I far exceed the EPA numbers NOW but at first I only achieved the EPA numbers. A good way to look at it is to see what mpg you are getting now and how that compares to the car you have as a daily driver. That ratio should transfer over to the FIT. Don't be misled by adds, drivers or dealers saying you will get this many mpg. Technique is key when it comes to mpg(hey that rhymed! )

I am a former s2k owner. I had a SSM 2001 and a Rio 2005. The greatest savings the Fit will guarantee you is in insurance costs and tires lol. I had to replace the rear tires every 6-8k miles. Fuel savings won't be huge as the S does pretty good if you don't vtec it all the time. Of course you can use regular which is nice. I could get over 30 mpg when I tried hard, typical tank was about 28 mpg in commuting duty. Weekend (track) duty was around 20 mpg.
I will be getting another S2000 (CR) once the Fit is paid off.

The S2000 is one car I would trade in my Fit for...But I would probably also get a butt-load of tickets from speeding in it!! Best I should keep the econo-box...ooops...don't let her hear me calling her that....

I think I will keep the S2000, it's not that expensive, maintenance is cheap, I get 24mpg which is fine, I don't race it or drive too crazy so tires should last 12k or so. I think I just really really like the 09 fit..I'll enjoy my 07 Fit and my S2k. Thanks all, see you out there!

I cannot imagine you are going to go from an S2000 to a Fit and not be disappointed. Are you crazy?
Your wife already has a Fit if you need to make a run to Costco or something. Keep the S2000 man. You aren't going to save money by buying a new car trust me and you will miss the S2k.
