My 09 fit is consider total loss now, how much am I be able to sell?

Hi everyone, my 09 fit is consider a total loss now. I am not willing to repair it. Since I already pulled the trigger bought a 17 fit. So how much estimate am I be able to sell this damaged car? I asked a auto repair shop nearby, he told me less than $1000. Is that correct? Any idea? I live in New York. The car has 54000 miles.
Engine is fine, car can still run.

your insurance is going to give you money for the car right? just get it written off, take the check and apply to your new car.

It is probably worth more than they said. Send me a few more pictures tomorrow of all the damage, if you would. I will make a fair offer.

you got a good deal. I am sure you can sell it for $2000-$3000. I don't know what an undamaged car is worth.

Around here a 09 is going for about 4500 to 5500 (Folks ask more... ) The engines are worth surprisingly little... 700 is the high end with transmission. If you want ot go to the trouble of parting it out you can likely do fairly well, your other option is to get a dealer to let you send it to the local auction, with rear end damage its got potential to puuj decent dollars with little hassle, but they don't do reserves so its a gamble. Ebay is another option, make a video with good details and link it to the ad.

Is the rear suspension OK? If so a little red tape over the tail light and good to go.
