I do think I'm going to record an audio file titled aaaaaaaaa.mp3 consisting only if me saying "Connected" so that I don't have to hear the first 10 seconds of "About a Girl" by Nirvana every time I connect it!
Most excellent tips -- we just discovered this the other day, when my girlfriend couldn't play an MP3 via e-mail on her iPhone due to the Fit/iPhone taking control. Starting/stopping Pandora did the trick.

I have a similar issue in my Prius where it starts playing the first song ("Accountant Shanty" or something from Monty Python's Meaning of Life) and I wanted to do a similar thing with an aaaaa file ;-) Great ideas.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier but i found something new today (owned the car since dec.08):

If the hood is open and u press the lock button twice on the keyfob, the second press of the lock button will not give the "meep" horn sound. The hood has to be closed in order to hear it.

Thought it was interesting and wanted to let u guys know.

The middle rear seatbelt doesn't have to just hang there when it's retracted; it has a latch for the small connector that allows it to sit snugly on the ceiling.

I guess I'll have to master it because no matter what I do, it just falls out of the slot and dangles!

If you have your door locks set to open when you put it in "Park", they will NOT un-lock if you apply the emergency brake first. Engage Park and then use your E-brake (if you use it at all).

I'm not quite sure how it stays up; there's no "click" sound or anything like that ... it feels like it just wedges into something. But once it's in there, it stays good - I have to pull pretty hard to get it out.

It feels like there is a little magnet in mine. Kinda softly clicks in and stays put.

Don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but with the rear wiper OFF and the front wipers on INT -shift to reverse (MT or AT) and the rear wiper comes on INT automatically.

The center cup area at the bottom of the console in the dash? I tried removing mine and, while it kinda' moves around, I don't seem to be able to remove it.

Also, are you talking about a GE or a GD?

Thanks

HAHA, that's too funny. I currently don't own a Fit (trying, but no dice yet). For now, I'm driving my brother-in-law's Nissan Pathfinder. I put an Alpine ida-x305 and I typically listen to my iPod.

Every so often, my iPod (or the Alpine) glitches out and instead of playing the last song from my playlist, it just plays the first song on my iPod. And that song is....

"About a Girl" -Nirvana.

If I create an mp3 file named "aaaa.mp3" I'm gonna make it say "Dude, it's glitched out, change the playlist damn it!"

On another note... anyone use Bubba Kegs? I have a 52 oz Bubba Keg that I use to drink soda (fill it up with ice and two cans of Pepsi, and it'll usually last me a couple of hours). right now, using an adjustable cup holder I bought from Autozone, I have a place to put the keg. I'm still trying to figure out where I would be able to put the keg in the Fit (or the cupholder).

That's another "fool-proof" feature. If you press the "unlock" button and DON'T open a door within about 30 seconds, the car assumes you pushed the button by mistake, and relocks the doors. This is to prevent you form accidently leaving the car unlocked by pushing the button by mistake (like while reaching in a pocket, squatting down, etc.)

Mighty clever, them Honda fellers.

That's strange, mine does not do this are you sure you didn't accidently hit the cruise button when honking the horn? You may have a loss of ground somewhere.

Update, the horn does not turn off the cruise control. I must have tapped the brakes or engaged the clutch automatically. Snoodmaster, good catch!

(3) If you put pencils/pens/etc. on the little area below the top glove box, they will slide around and off, even on slow normal turns. I keep mine in the top glove box with my ipod, since it has a grippy rubber lining.
Sorry it was so basic. lol
The slot between the glove boxes holdes a 3 cell aa Led Maglight with its cloth holder nice and snug, it has not fallen out of mine yet.

With regard to the front center cup holder coming out, it looks like there is a little tab that needs to be popped with a small screwdriver in order to remove it. I haven't tried it yet, I mentioned to my wife that it comes out, and she said "why would you want to do that?"

The floormats have a small plastic lip on the outside to wedge under the plastic panels near the door sills. Ingenious and simple way to keep them from moving.

I noticed a small light below the dash that illuminates the front console cup holders - comes on with the headlights. Is this new for 2012? I don't see it in my son's '09 Fit Sport M/T.
