Tint questions answered - metallic

Here's the info requested: Three shades of tint: Rear Hatch window: sp 35; Rear sides: sp 45; Front sides: 20. Logic behind this was night driving - view from rear window.

Job completed at California Tint in Rosemead. 626 287- 2321. They do perhaps forty jobs per day and five men work on the vehicle at one time. Highly organized; lifetime warranty: Price: $150.00 ALL windows, except windshield. Ask for owner: who's name is also Peter. Product used was Johnson Window Films

Hope this helps. Peter

I got my first ever tint job last week.

I always wonder, how the hell do they do this? Is it a thick or thin film? How do they cut the film and apply it so accurately? What adhesive do they use to put it on, etc.?

They match the shape by tracing the tint on the exterior window and cutting it to size. To apply the tint w/o bubbles, you can use a soapy solution and squeegee the liquid and bubbles out once the tint is fully on the window. Once the tint paper dries after three days, it's good to go.

To remove, you can peel the tint off and use windex + a razor blade to get the goo off. It's a little tougher for the back window where the defroster lines are though.

I've had two cars tinted at California Tint, and they did a great job. No bubbles, fading or anything. I've never had to use their lifetime warranty. I would've had them tint my Fit but they don't carry ceramic tint.
