Hot damn, this is OLD! I forgot I'm on page 46 of this thread. I've been up/down all kinds of road trips since...originally in Chicago, up to Toronto, down to Kansas, up to Upper Peninsula Michigan, and now I'm all the way in Washington. I'm creeping up on 26k miles now. 27 months....and still...after parking it, I look over my shoulder and give it a good look--everytime.

Just bought one one week ago.

We just bought a Honda Fit 2009 Sport after our mechanic recommended it as the number one for subcompact cars. It had to be big enough to fit my tall husband, but small enough for me to maneuver.

Last car I had was a Chevy Metro from 1999. Big upgrade for me.

I love my new car!!

2009 Fit AT base

Purchased it yesterday. 112k...Hope that timing chain doesn't give out! Paid 6k which is probably somewhere around 4k less than I should have but the guy that owned it before me smoked in the car and EVERY seat has a cigarette burn in it. I mean EVERY one. I don't get it.

Anyway. I'm on the look out for a set of seat (just the lower is fine) if anyone has them.

Getting the smell out will be the real challenge

Yeah. I've got all new seats in it now. I have a new carpet as well but haven't taken the time to put it in just yet. I've pulled the console, shifter, e-brake and replaced all that too (burns on all of it). Searching for a solid headliner and visors now. The smell is better. I think the seats were the worst part of it.

Clean the interior plastics, especially the bpillar.

Also clean the seat belt and headliner.

Those are all areas that really hold in ciagrette stink.
