Yeah, my brother said the same about saving mileage on my car. Still, considering I had to wait 9 weeks from my pre-order date of July 18 for my car to arrive on the lot, then 5 days after that to pick it up, I got to drive it for only 8 days and now have been 5 days without is driving me : hyper::h yper:

Can you go back there and get your car back until they get the part? I hate it when they do that where you go through all this trouble bringing your car there and then they don't have the part. That drives me nuts.

Well, if I'm being practical I can see that them giving me a brand spanking new 2009 Fit LX to drive for however long this takes is to my advantage. I am saving quite a bit of mileage on my car since I put about 500 km (310 miles) per week. I'm just antsy since I waited so long for the car to arrive in Sudbury, then went through the agony of knowing it was here but I had to wait again to pick it up, and now this further wait time. I'm not the most patient person in the world so all this waiting is a killer for me! BUT, I'm logical enough to see that I'm not really being inconvenienced since I did get a comparable car as a loaner. Ok, not having tint and my USB port to hook up my ipod on those long drives to/from work is a bit of a hassle, but I'll live.....

I didn't even call the dealership yesterday! I'm trying hard to wait for their call but again, patience isn't my forte...

Just me personally, I could care less about getting free miles on a loaner car - I just want MY car to drive and look at. But that's just me.

But you should definitely call them. When it comes to service departments, I never take their word when they say they'll call you at X o'clock. Your car is probably waiting for you already!! Can't hurt to call.

Tell them that you have an autocross meet soon, and unless you have your car you're going to have to use theirs, and it won't bother you too much because overall it's the same car. See if that speeds them up!

Dang...you're a Senior Member too now! I think once you go over 300 posts you must get that title.

Wow, I just checked before lunch and I was just a "member". Thanks for telling me. We're both seniors now. Feels like High School again, doesn't it?

I'm glad I suggest you call them. Dealers always do that - tell you they'll call but they never do.

So you have the remote start? Did you try it?

Please post some pics of your new carbon fiber.

Yup, got remote, block heater, new trim, carpet clips. I'm set! I'll take pics of my car in it's current glory and post on Saturday (what a tease hey? ).

One thing, I'm reading up on the remote starter and there is a very handy feature for "automatic defrost function". When you start the car remotely "FOR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL FEATURE", it automatically activates the window defroster and rear defogger/heated side mirrors. Now that would be extremely handy up here in chilly North-eastern Canada BUT, if I'm reading this right, only cars with automatic climate control get this feature. I'll have to call my dealer tomorrow to confirm this. I can manually turn my climate control dial to defrost before I get out of the car at night, but if there was a way to get the rear defogger/heated side mirrors to automatically activate when I use the remote starter that would be great!

A neat thing with the remote starter is that it has a little screen which you can use to show you the current status of the car (i.e. engine off - car locked, engine off - security alarm activated, etc). When I activate it, the remote also gives me a countdown of how much time is left. Very handy. I can set this to 10-20 mins. Weird, but thoughtful, feature is that when I go to unlock my doors, the engine will stop. No possibility of reving the engine this way! I did this a few times with my "normal" starter in my Mazda3 so Honda thought of everything. I was a bit surprised to only get 1 remote since I got 2 with my Mazda3, but this is a pretty fancy unit. I'll ask tomorrow about this, just to be sure I wasn't supposed to get 2 and they "forgot" (as per my darn carpet retaining clips).

Do North American Fits even have heated mirrors?

or is it only available through the JDM parts?

CANADIAN Fits (LX and Sport) have heated side mirrors as standard equipment. Don't be jealous though - US Sports got map lights and a gear indicator display.

FINALLY! sheesh! I guess calling the dealer paid off. I agree with crystalfive in that I don't really trust customer service much, good customer service is pretty rare these days..

I have a long way till i become a senior member.. *sigh*

Nice to hear that you get that. With Canadian winters I guess that is a must have.

Gotta check for maplights when mine finally arrives.

But gear indicator would be useless to me since I'm getting the 5 speed no? Or does it show for the manual transmission versions too? (not that I think it would be that important to me)

I really like the JDM heated, auto-fold, led ones in the JDM parts thread, but not sure how expensive they are and if its worth it for me.

Glad to see you finally got your car back.. lol @ the GR8 pumkin. nice name for it.

Let us know what you find out.

Yeah, thankfully she told me "um, CALL the dealership" and I did! Really paid off. Doesn't help that the original guy I was dealing with quit/got fired whatever....doesn't work at Honda anymore! Guess my little Fit got lost in the cracks due to this but you'd think SOMEONE would have noticed a certain 2009 Tidewater Blue LX out on loan for 5 DAYS!!! Well, they are a HUGE dealership and, like I said, I was unlucky since my guy isn't there anymore.

Well, remote starter actually does work (had to open building door since I didn't hear the engine start, nor could I hear it running...quiet!) and everything else is in the car now. Took 1 month from the day I signed the papers and 2 weeks from the day I picked up the car, but the GR8 Pumpkin is now fully outfitted! Woohoo...can't wait to post pics of the new trim. Really sharp but now it's making me wish for the carbon fibre B pillar trim all the more...

Yeah, heated mirrors and that 4.5 L windshield washer reservoir are MUSTS up here in Canada. I'm just jealous that you get those map lights and gear indicator down in the US. I have an automatic and miss seing what gear I'm in (had this in my Mazda3 Sport GT). No, it isn't an essential feature but I just like to know... Oh and you guys ALSO get the option of the Navi system plus stability assist which we don't get up here.

I'll post any more details on the remote starter here. I'm pretty sure only 1 remote comes with the system, though you CAN order an extra one (at added cost, of course). From reading the booklet, it seems that I don't get that "auto defrost" feature though it would be extremely handy to get the rear defogger/side mirrors going when I activate the remote! Never know with Honda, makers of my all-time favorite car feature - the gas cap holder in the fuel filler door! That still floors me....oh and my sister's 10 year old Odyssey has this too so some wonderful Honda engineer thought of this way back when...

GR8 Pumpkin - that one would be my sister's doing but very appropriately named, especially since I got it just when the fall colors were coming in!

Yeah, I could see my self using the remote starter. Especially if the defogger, and climate control come on at the same time. Some of the other features might make me rethink getting the factory remote starter instead of aftermarket one.
