Anything can fit in a Fit. I'm just kidding... Depends how long the plywood is. Try measuring the clearance inside?

I don't think there's any way you'll get 4'x8' sheets IN the Fit unless they're cut down. A nice thick comforter and some rope might accommodate rooftop transport of a couple sheets.

I wish!!!

From what I recall when I did my measurements for cargo space on the 07. You might fit the (4'x8')plywood or sheetrock in but it will not fit all the way in or all the way flat.
The minimum distance between the wheel wells in the trunk cargo space is about ~41inches, so it wont be flat. Above the wheel wells you got about ~50" but I cant recall if it will even fit thru the hatch opening. Regardless in terms of length the longest space you got is about 6'9" from passenger glove box to the hatch, still too short for the 8' sheets. Plus with the driver seat in the driving position its only about ~60" well shy of the 96" (8').

I wish I could fit sheets of plywood, or sheetrock, but it seems I will have to measure 10x and cut once to properly arrange the sheets to fit, in the rare instances I will need to.

This is the thread I posted my original info --> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/othe...html#post67934

disclaimer: measurements are within 1-3" accuracy give or take, and are from the 07 Fit, but space hasn't changed that much on the 09's.

You need a full-size minivan with middle and third row seats removed to do this.

I think you can rent a truck/van from Lowes to take the plywood home. they charge by the hour or half-hour but if you don't live too far it's not so bad. A lot cheaper than BUYING a minivan and pay for the extra in loan and gas just to haul an occasional large pieces.

According to Car and Driver ---> http://www.caranddriver.com/content/...Spec+Sheet.pdf

they were able to fit a 59" x 40" piece of plywood in there.

Thumbs up

I love how much this car can Fit.

8' 2x's and an 8' strip of plywood on an angle, that's great to know it can fit that way.

yep, i did the same thing wit the passanger seat up, the board was verticle [meaning the width was up and down], wasnt too many boards but hey it worked, didnt pic it but i CAN confirm from expierence ;] it was from the edge of the inside-cargo, to sitting on the edge of the glove compartment area, almost ontop the airbag deployment. yes it was an angle and 8 feet long
