Good for you! We wanted the navi for VSA. My wife insists upon MT. There weren't any.

Is the Navi all that it's hyped up to be? What about that stability control that's tied into it? Just curious. If it was worth the $1800 price tag.

I like Honda's navi. We've gotten used to stability systems. On a recent, bad-weather trip home from Chicago, we saw ten SUVs upside down along I-80 (scattered across Illinois). Our rental, with GM's version of stability control, tracked straight ahead. It would kick in on slick spots that I couldn't even see.

At any rate, we ordered the Fit in early October and should get it within the next week. We live in the country. Plenty of opportunities to try out the VSA. Maybe I'll post a review when I have a chance to really see how this system works.

Someone is out driving in the snow right now, I bet. He or she can let you know how it works. I won't buy fancy wheels or JDM mods. I like gadgets, so they are worth it to me.

I'm excited for you, SportMTNavi!!! And I am looking forward to your review too. I often forget how much weather can affect driving...even LOCAL driving.

A couple years back the fog was so thick that I ended up turning around and going home. Because I had to drive so slowly, it took a long time to get to intersections and it was very disorienting. I remember back to my younger years too, with thick fog. The most familiar street becomes alien.

And folks in a snow area, get snow every year. Roads look different. Roads DRIVE different. A road that is a breeze to drive in summer becomes a big mess in winter. It's dark earlier, it's cold, there's black ice, and white out conditions.

ANYTHING that can help prevent this is a good thing:
YouTube - Snow Slide

folks in non-snow areas forget that sometimes brakes and steering just don't work.

If you only want the Navi unit you might as well go aftermarket...
See this thread for a great install on a better Navi unit than is available from Honda. ---> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...90bt-09-a.html A lot of the features of the Navi have been locked or disabled. No bluetooth, DVD playback, and some other things also. More info --> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ge-thread.html

People are still trying to figure out if it's possible to add on VSA, but so far by the looks of it it's not worth it. https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...d-oem-vsa.html

Which dealership did you buy it from?

Not here. Just heard from my dealer, it's on the train, expect it next week. We'll see. Looking forward to getting it first of all, and checking the actual build date. I'll update when I get it...

Gee--you'd think they'd want the money sooner. Business must be good.

No sign of a car here either. I am actually getting pretty sad waiting this long. I keep having places I'd like to go on my car, but I just stay home because I don't want to be stuck in my old car all day.

My dealer says they can't really find out much. Ah well--we've waited this long (14 weeks so far). I made space for it in the garage. It's going to be too cold to work out there this coming week...just being optimistic.

My salesman didn't have much news other than in transit until this last week. Now two location updates within a few days. There must have been quite a hold-up at the port with the boat2train transfer.
