This is particularly mentioned by my dealer when I got the car two months ago, but anyhow....today we finally have some snow, and I was testing out the ABS by doing some hard braking. I've been in some cars with ABS before, and all I could feel is the "pumping" of the brakes but no noise. My Fit makes loud "chopping" noise when I hard brake it. Is that normal ?

 

I can hear it but I find it to be quite quiet.

 

Mine makes a pretty loud noise, too. So I guess that is normal.

 

We're supposed to get a snow/ice mix overnight here in STL...I'll be sure to test this out for ya...

Honda ABS has been noisy ever since they first implemented it. Fit is no different, it still sounds like an impact wrench when it goes off.

Sometimes the EBD can cover it up on the more expensive Hondas because the ABS activates in far fewer situations, but when it activates you still know it.

 

Just tested this...it's not that bad, I've heard worse. (My 2000 Avalon was louder..)

 

Thanks for the feedback~! Yes, when I stopped on slippery surface and didn't hit the brake that hard, my brake pumps without making any noise at all......but when I brake hard that's when it sounds like those turn wheel at a Casino.....

 

ook whew i thought i heard that from my car too when i braked really hard and i thought i hit something..
