Rattles Under Braking

Rattles Under Braking
I've been driving around in an area that full of expansion joints and damaged road. Lately I've been getting a rattling noise if I hit some rough road while braking. It sounds like a metal spring when you pull it back and release it, like a "boing" sound. It only happens sometimes. On other times, under similar braking situations, the brake pedal feels like it's binding up on something. It feels like it catches on something the first few centimeters of travel and then releases. Any idea on what's going on with my car? I'm thinking of having my Honda dealer check it out.

I thought ABS only kicks in under hard braking. Or does it also kick in when it detects wheel slippage due to the rough pavement? I forgot to mention that rattling sound sometimes happens when I go over speed bump. It's wierd.

I used to hear the ABS kick in VERY easily with my base 14" steelies. Just like you describe, braking to a stop light with uneven pavement (basically 60% of all stop lights here in Puerto Rico) and I would get the rattling from the ABS system kicking in.
After I installed my 15" aftermarket rims with a wider tire (195/50/15) I barely hear the ABS kick in over uneven pavement anymore.

I'm going to get it checked out anyway. Because I sometimes hear it when not braking and the front end comes down over speed bumps. Also, I'm not sure if your supposed to feel jolts when the ABS is on, because I feel none.
