Hi all,

New here, but have lurked for awhile. I have an '08 Fit with 102k miles. Over the last few months, upon starting up the engine, when I pull out and hit about 10 mph, there is an odd buzzing sound which lasts for maybe 1 second. It only happens when I turn on the enginer, not when I move from a complete stop (ie. stop light).

Also, I believe it is related, but when I hit a slight bump in the road while braking, a similar buzz will sound (sometimes), and it feels like my ABS will engage. Anyone have thoughts on this? I tried a search but did not see anything.

 

That IS the ABS, testing itself.

The system does a quick test the first time you get up to 10 - 12 MPH on any drive. Sounds like a clunk or buzz.

 

Thanks for the response. The buzz/whurring sound is quite loud. Not sure how normal that is. It hadn't done it before.
