what's the big deal, I thought this was supposed to be difficult. factory nav panel works perfect, used a universal bracket to support the back and a new honda wiring harness. got xm, ipod, bluetooth, voice activation, rear camera etc, it looks stock!

Awesome! I see it has an SD and 1/8" mini-plug connection up front, but how exactly does it interface with USB adapters? I like the stock USB input found in the Sport model glovebox, I wonder if it's easy to retain this connection with this Pioneer?
From the stock pics on their website, it looks like there's a proprietary connection for all the A/V inputs in the back, which seem to connect to a supplied cable which has all MALE Composite/USB connections on the other end??
I may end up upgrading to something like this down the line if know one figures out a way to enable bluetooth on the stock Fit navi. I would prefer retain the 6.5" screen size as opposed to the 5.8" on this model, and wouldn't consider it unless it supports more USB devices than the stock fit, and retains the ability to connect quickly/or through the stock USB harness in the glove box. Not to mention I would have to retain the ability to use my stock steering wheel mounted audio controls!!
Edit: So far I found this statement in regards to USB support for the Pioneer units, it doesn't sound too restrictive: "Not every USB device is compatible. Compatible with MSC (Mass Storage Class) and USB memory device only. Not compatible with DRM (Digital Rights Management) contents and MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) connection players. Unauthorized copying of music is strictly prohibited. Note: Some files might not play."

Im also curious to know what bracket you used. Did you use the simple metal strap thats included in most aftermarket stereos or did you use something more elaborate that surrounds the stereo like a cage? I have a Alpine W505 sitting and waiting for its home in the Fit but I dont know how Im going to hold the rear of it in place.

the F90 and the F900 are the SAME... the F90 just comes with the ipod interface cable while on the F900 it must be purchased seperate.

2 Questions . . .
1 - Does this work only if you have the factory NAVI and replace it? (I'm hoping it will work for non-NAVI Sports too, like mine)
2 - Where do I order just the factory NAVI panel (faceplate?) What's the part number?
Please, tell us all the parts we need! (bracket, wire harness, etc.)
I'll bet there are at least 30 people on this site with an '09 that are ready to jump on this PRONTO! (I know I would - I HATE the factory stereo!)
And yes, pictures please!

Thanks Chris! And the diff. between F700 and F900 is DVD playability, correct? Not sure if I really need to watch movies in my car ever...so looks like I'll be getting the 700 :P

Also my suggestion tranced is that you get the 900 not the 700. Because for the small amount you save its just not worth cutting out the DVD. Because who knows one day when you chillin with some friends and bored in the car you just might wanna pop that DVD in. Or if your waiting on someone who is shopping or if your waiting in a long ass line. I never played the DVDs while i was driving. And might have just used 4 dvds for a short time in a year. But it was nice when the occasion arose. Just my .02 cents take it or leave it. I was in the car stereo business for quite some time. I know my way around

bought the nav panel from honda for $35, used a new accord wiring harness, and the plate the came with the radio(trimmed up a bit) it's supported by a somewhat modified bracket, local stereo shop did it since i was hearing about all the problems but they said it wasn't that hard at all. ipod is hooked up through the factory plug.

finally! sorry it took so long for much anticipated pics and for the pics on myspace instead of fitfreak, stupid computer!!! i did get the update from pioneer for free, bootup is only a few seconds. bluetooth works great(mic is up by my rear view mirror), nav has a dudes voice, volume knob is a little small, not that big of a deal (unless a put an aggressive spring rate drop on it, then might get a little annoying) xm is hooked up, antenna is mounted under the windshield wiper plastic (still very good reception) btw was factory no nav. dvds look and sound really good even with stock speakers (dolby digital) haven't messed with the sd card or usb yet
