I doubt that anyone with a GE8 has had their battery die (including overseas). Check back in 2012..

im gonna rephrase that...

say if you leave your headlights on the whole night. will it die out by the morning? i'm saying this because the battery looks so small.

+1

Should be at the very least 5 years; one would hope. Some, those that aren't in inclement weather conditions, should last for a long time.

Did yours(OP) die?

EDIT: I guess I haven't left my headlights on yet.

Short answer: Yes, it's small...but I'll guess it would fire right up even if you left your lights on all night.

Long answer: If you're really interested, you may be able to find your answer using mathematics. If we could find out the Reserve Capacity (RC) rating of the battery (RC measures how long your car will run without an alternator @ 25 amps to maintain 10.5 volts), and measure the voltage draw from your headlights (plus everything that you would typically have drawing power), you may end up with a relatively precise estimate. I'm not an electrical engineer, so unless my logic is flawed in some way, this may be an easy experiment.

Headlighs on, that is big draw, dead in 1.5- 3 hrs.

I use an odyssey battery 45% that size in my 1100cc motorcycle and my 3.5 liter Maxima

I use a Yausa Battery 1/4 of that size to start my 4 cyl 4 stroke 1000cc snowmobile in minus 0 F temps.

That Fit Yausa is a very good battery and perfectly fine + for yer car

ANY battery will die if you leave the headlights on overnight and not the car running
end of story

Why does that suck?

It's not designed to do that and redesigning it to seems useless to me.

Are you asking why it would suck walking out to a dead battery if your lights are left on?

Auto on/off headlights are hardly useless, in fact they're found as standard equipment on many new cars. All of my previous cars were equipped with these, even dating back to 2000.

I left my interior light on all night last week. Didn't notice it until the next day when I was driving down the road and it was on. Guess that wasn't enough to drain it, lol.

No. There is a warning when lights are left on. That works to avoid "walking out to a dead battery".

I'm not talking about auto on/off lights. In fact I modded my 21 year old Civic with auto lights on/off (added a relay). I thought about doing the same to my Fit but the warning beep is good enough for me.

I was talking about trying to make the battery last overnight while the lights are left on. That's what seems useless to me

I usually find it pretty obvious that my headlights are still on when I get out of the car and see the glaring headlights at the front, since I only turn them on at night and they sure show up noticably. Don't know about you guys but that's good enough for me. It'd be convenient to have the auto-turn off but oh well.
