Sticky Key

I went to pull the Fit into the garage last night and the key was difficult to get into the ignition. It is also difficult to remove now. This just started happening. I did not get a chance to to try the other key to see if it does the same. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

The only thing I can suggest is to remember that you have to push the key in for the first click. Starting from the key and engine on:

Turn back one click (engine turns off)
Push in, then turn back, last click
Pull out key

Lawlz if not that then try your spare?

:P

Have you bent it? Maybe in your pocket?

Aha! I just looked at it and there is an ever so slight bend towards the end. I looked at it last night but I guess since it was dark it was not as noticeable, I didn't think twice. Wow, it doesn't take much.

Hi Give the key a quick squirt of wd-40 or a quick spray into key-hole.work ignition a few times.

Straightening the key out fixed the problem. I did not think of it being bent because I do not normally carry my keys in my pocket. My engineer at work thinks I tried to pull the key out to fast from the ignition and bent them.

He cannot prove that!
