To get it out of the way first, I didn't technically order this car. I went to the dealer on 2/9/09 telling them what I wanted, they told me it would be a month or so wait, and asked me if they could get me my second color choice to prevent the wait. I was persistant that I wanted the Taffeta White and that I would wait. They said at that time, that the Fit which matched what I wanted was just about to go into production.

My question is, are there any educated estimates as to how much longer i'll be waiting? Again, I put my $100 deposit down on 2/9, I live in East TN.

Would it be safe to say that my car has been produced by this time, perhaps on the ship on the way over??

Just getting anxious is all and wish there was some way I could keep track of my car's progress.

I know exactly how you feel. I put $500 down on a blue sensation AT sport just before Christmas and I am STILL waiting!!! They were also telling me that it was just about to be built... then mid-Jan... then late Jan, early Feb. Anyway... it was built near the beginning of February and, when I went in last week, they said their delivery date was supposed to be the 13th. When I went in on Friday, they said it's in Winnipeg and should be in "any day now". I should have taken the drive to get it since Winnipeg is only a couple of hours away. I'm really expecting it this week. I don't know. It's frustrating anyway. You would think they'd know more about it. Hopefully, you don't have to wait as long as I have. There's a taffetta white one at my local dealer now... tempting... but I'm holding out for the blue one.

 

Ugh man thats rough, maybe it's taking longer since you're in Canada!

 

Wait time is around 2 1/2 to 3 months. There were atleast six of us on this site, including myself, who waited for the special order. It was well worth it.

 

Yeah i'm sure its well worth it, lol. Just an agonizing wait!

 

wow sucks to have to wait for months.

my dealer ordered a bunch of fits. they had every color, but only 1 each with NAV.

We picked up a Tafetta White Sport AT w/ Nav, got a decent deal for it, about 50 bucks under msrp with free cargo mat and wheel locks.

 

yep, I waited almost 2.5 months for my taffeta white manual sport to get here. The dealer can track the cars process once it is built.

 

Wait time is about 2-3 months. Especially since the car comes from japan. Luckly my dealer had the taffy white without nav and auto available at the time.

 

Not a bad deal, just not interested in the automatic....hate those things.

Ugh....I really hope it doesn't take that long....i'm basically without a car right now and its really starting to get to me.

Ordered early October. Built November 27. Delivered January 13.

Long trip across the Pacific on the ship.

Doesn't matter any more. Worth the wait to get what I wanted.

The dealer called while ago with my vin, so that means the car has been made I'm guessing?? The salesman I'm going through said I should have the car in about 20 days or so, give or take a few.

Does this sound about right to you guys?

Yeah this guy who I dealt with is actually the sales manager, and I made it very clear as to what I wanted, so surely they won't try and play games with me. If they do, I'll either be in touch with a higher-up at the dealer or go elsewhere.

 

So i'm curious as to what stage the car is more than likely in if they have a vin#, could it be leaving Japan or would it already be over here in the states for them to have the vin?
