So I just got the car, and one of the biggest things that bothers me is the rear drums.

I haven't had drums since my '87 accord.

Anyway I stumbled across T1R kit from AJ racing guys up in BC, I've been there a few years back.

Anyway the kit is designed for 2007-2008 FITs, but I want to know if they work in our 2009s, or if there is another kit that will work.

Not looking to have to fabricate anything, just want a bolt-on job.

 

according to AJ Racing the kit does not fit, they are currently working on a rear disc conversion for the GE*

 

shouldn't be long I wouldn't think since the jdm or euro version come stock with rear disc (can't remember which might be both)
I'd like to do this conversion as well eventually even though I have no problems stopping right now.

Might pick up some EBC greenstuff pads in the future for the front just for some extra stopping power.

 

I heard from the mazda 3 forums tat the EBC doesn't work that well and that hawk's work better. I want to upgrade brake pads but don't kno which one.

 

i have kind of a wierd idea that just popped into my head. the GD t1r big brake kit works on the GE. if i put the big brake kit on the GE and take original front disc brakes and put them to the back and make them the rear disc brakes will this work?? it will definitely give it more stopping power right?

 

Is the accord's horn a direct fit?

 

I had ebc green stuff pads on my CL-S with power slot rotors and they worked great. I've never had hawks so they might be better ..but I was happy with the EBC.

 

If you don't want to fabricate anything, try getting your hands on a salvaged one off the EDM or JDM Jazz. It believe it should bolt on with new proportional valve and brake lines. I am looking for one right now.

Funny thing, I was interested in this too.

 

When I got the disc conversion for the 07 Fit, the rear rotor is actually thinner instead of double layer with cooling in the middle. It's just one solid rotor. If you did do what you're trying to do, you'll need the size of the front caliper, but that wont work because you have no e-brake cable attachment and bracket to hold it in place.
