Tire pressure low?!?!

I just got my 09 fit AT sport last friday, 2 days later i get the low tire pressure signal, so I checked it out and i saw no screws or anything, so i just filled them up now and figured out that the the 2 back tires were at 20 psi, so hopefully thats what it was... Braman honda for the loss:/

Wow. The sensors go off at anything below 32 psi I think. It sounds like your dealer didn't prep your car.

you would think the dealer would check the tire pressure before
sale, but most of the time they dont.

tpms light typically comes on at 28psi.

lol, thanks, yea I thought so. For the first few days I thought I had a slow leak:/, that would have really sucked, seeing how the car is less then a week old.

If it's the light that looks like a flat tire, it's just the pressure. If the light that says "TPMS" comes on, you have to go back and have them calibrate the system (like I had to).

The tires are supposed to be inflated to 33 psi. The monitor goes off when any tire drops below an absolute 25 psi. This is in contrast to the BMW system, which, when initialized, notes the four tire pressures and then responds to a pressure difference measured between two tires on the same axle. This system must be re-initialized each time the tire pressures are adjusted. The Honda system need never be re-initialized, but,of course,it is simpler in concept (and probably in cost).

This has happened alot. Lots of people are starting to think Honda dealerships do this purposely to make the ride seem more comfortable than it really is during the test drives. Mine also came on about a week after I bought. They were in the 20s.

they're pressured up in Japan and when it's cold outside
the psi drops 1psi per 10F in difference.

especially in the winter time you'll see low psi on new cars
because the dealer forgets to check before the sale.

if japan was at 65F (33psi) when it was pressued up, you buy a
car in Chicago where temps are 25F, your psi is now 29, not
to forget the typical 0.5 to 1psi 'natural' loss per month.

just get a 12v air compressor and decent tire pressure guage.
