Intake...whats the best?

I have read up tons on upgrades for my 09' fit... i am strongly looking into the

K&N Typhoon Short Ram Silver Honda Fit 1.5L

Any one using this type?
Is it hard to install?

Where is the best place to find one?

Do some more research on intakes especially from K&N on this site.

in reality there is no intake out yet for the GE8.
as least state side. can't speak for the rest of
the world. there will be some soon. competition
is fierce. hopefully someone will make one that
produces good HP.
as for K&N stay away.

where did you find an intake for the 2009 fit? i looked on their site and nothing.

why should he stay away from k&n? there is nothing wrong with them. ive run K&N on everything ive ever owned, quads, bikes, cars. everything and no problems

Do not buy K&N, they put the filter right next to the engine to soak up heat and have horrible fitment on the GD's. Great on my other cars but not on the Fit.

On the GE8 the best place for the filter to be is by the brake reservoir behind the battery where there is a scoop that feeds forced cold air into there.

PRM has an intake that puts the filter right in that spot and has seen very good results (6whp). That is the only intake available right now. T1R should be coming out with their carbon fiber chambered intake which also puts the filter in that same spot and has seen good results in GD's. Get the PRM or wait a couple months for the T1R.

wow thanks... i have always loved k&n but after reading a couple of those reviews i am going to stay away. Will i notice a change in the engine horse power as soon as i drop it in, or will i have to do exhaust at the same time... also what about the computer?

I drive an 08' fit sport AT made 12/2007 according to the sticker in the door. The PRM site only has 06 - 07 and 09. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me which would fit my Fit

Nope.

Different engine, way less space in the engine bay.

Wait a few more months for the big name companies to get theirs out. Injen, Fujita, Aem and many more are to come with quality built units!

if i had to chose now, Id ONLY trust RPM

There is quite a bit of good info about the PRM Intake in this thread and some of the guys that have it on there car should be able to answer all of your questions of how it installs on the GE8 Fit
