The inside is metal with a channel running around the middle. Not threaded. Looks like where bearings would be.

How 'bout geographically identify the material source to either an asian or american plastic supplier. He could at least elinimate it if american made from an american plastic supplier/factory.

I looked at the top pic again and noticed the brand DAYCO.

A second thought...it could also be the o-ring to the time compression chamber of a Flux Capacitor. Make sure your car isn't a time machine by flipping the hazard lights switch on and off 5 times while counting to 3 in letters.

Looks like a kenuker valve to me, it doesn't matter if it falls off though because like transmissions you have two.
