Had the same retrofit antennae when I had my Mini Cooper S. In town, I couldn't notice much difference, but noticed the reception quickly deteriorated when going out of town.

The shorty antennae certainly looks sporty and sharp!

Exhaust ports

Benggolf..Yes, I am a flight instructor..been one for 33 years. I'll post pictures when I get back from LA next week. To the wise-guys with the smart mouths: Before you smart off, find out what it looks like first. So far, 3 owners who saw it asked where they could get the ports. Why no HEMI sign? That does not even deserve an answer.

Its a forum get use to wise-guys
I said no comment because if your talking about these..

in my opinion they look cheap and a little ricey. If you like them then more power to you.

To each his own.

The only insulting part is that you called them PT Cruiser Exhaust Ports....they're CRUISERLINE VENTIPORTS and they were a Buick feature long before nostalgic baby boomers began putting them on their Cruisers!

Don't worry, I've been trying to decide how awful wood panelling would look on the doors....

Exhaust ports

I called them PT Cruiser ports, because, believe it or not, a lot of people have never seen them on a Buick!

I forgot...They may be considered ricey, but face it, the Fit is a rice mobile. I love it, but a rice mobile it is.

The Maserati Quatro Porte also has the same styling ports and is not a ricer by any means.... I have seen a lot of modifications that I personally can do without but there is just no reason I would say something negative about what an individual does to individualise his car..... Most of the cars here look like most of the cars here and don't reflect any individual taste whatsoever.

Oh my gosh...someone call a whambulance because yet someone else is whining. Its a freaking opinion. Get over it... I don't like it because its not my taste. I see to many riced out Cavaliers...(even though they are chevy ) with big wings and fender ports with primered colored body panels and fart can exhaust thinking they are speed racers. When he posted he had fender ports that's the first thing that came to mind. He post what he has done in a thread (which I started) to tell what you did to your car and to get feed back from other people and of course its not going to be everyones cup of tea. So tell me you've never told someone you didn't like something? Get over yourself. Its a car forum.... 90% of its opinion. Yes props to him for trying something/having something new but don't come here bashing people giving their honest opinion. This forum wouldn't exist without opinions period!

Crazy...though now that I think of it, the only reason I even know what ventiports are is b/c my mother's first car was a Buick and for the time and her family's economic standing it was so luxurious with it's automatic transmission, am/fm radio, comfy bench seat and of course those cruiserline ventiports...she always mentions the cruiserline ventiports and points out the grandiose atomic era name given to a purely cosmetic feature

When I was a teenager in the 60s I learned to extend my antenna when driving out in the boonies to not alert the local cops to the fact that I was a city dweller.... They were more prone to ticket people from out of their area knowing they wouldn't likely appear in traffic court to challenge them on bogus charges..... I had a girlfriend in a small town that would lower my antenna before getting in my Austin Healey 3000 so people wouldn't think we were "country".
