What did you do to your GE fit today?
I want to see pics when your done please!
I have those! I love 'em!
I have to admit, they are a bit of a PITA to install (ie, cutting into the carpet, making sure they are in the just the area, etc) but once you install the driver's side, it's great. I love my mats.

Changed the rear brake shoes today (2009 Sport).
I had been hearing a squealing from the rear brakes for the last couple of weeks, so I looked into it. I was quoted $157.00 installed, but ended up changing the shoes myself for $29.00 (Wagner brake shoes and brake cleaner). It took me about two hours to figure it out and with no special tools, except for a pair of needle nose pliers. I completed the other side in 15 minutes. Unfortunately, at 60K plus miles they really didn't need to be changed once I compared the old shoes with the new. I guess the break squeal was from a build up of brake dust and grime (according to some Google searches)? They were really dirty! Afterwards, no squeal and everything works great. This was harder then changing the pads and rotors up front, but it is absolutely a DIY job if you have a little patience. Good luck.
Gave it a good wash. Needs a thorough claybar/polish/wax to polish out some swirls and get it prepped for winter. Had it to a detail shop in the summer, and my paint left in worse condition than it arrived in. I complained and they detailed it again for free, but still did a mediocre job. I gotta suck it up and DIY it, but it'll be my first time trying to polish out swirls, and I keep putting it off for fear of making things worse.
Anyway, a few boring pics:

The Fit and my first car.

Nice clean lines.

And, since I get alot of questions about this, a closeup of my rear decal. It's a rare-ish sticker by Jeremy Fish (graphic and designer toy artist) that I trimmed up. I'd like to see about comissioning him to do a custom, stylized sketch of the Fit to make into a graphic, but I haven't bothered to inquire, yet. I'm not really one for non-car-related decals, but I've got to rep my favorite artist, and it feels appropriate for a slow car that's so much fun to drive.

I ripped up the front carpet, removed the driver's seat, center console, dead pedal, and sucked all the water out with a shop vac.
Safelite replaced my windshield about a month ago, and I just realized it has been leaking.

Last night, in the dark, I decided to delete my rear wiper. I'd gone to several hardware stores earlier and bought a variety of rubber corks and plastic caps. None were the exact size, but the one I went with was almost perfect. A littile ring of hot glue made a perfect seal, so it shouldn't leak, but will still pop off if I decide to reinstall the wiper.
If anyone wants, I have another cap (came in a 2-pack), so I can take a picture and provide the part # (from Lowe's)

Hatch trim and wiper assembly incase anyone's wondering what it looks like.

And the finished product. It's not beautiful, but it'll do the job until I get around to getting a wiperless garnish. My biggest complaint, is that without the wiper, obscuring it, it's more evident that my JDM rear emblem has separated from its adhesive backing (due to the curvature), and the gap is more noticeable. I need a solution for that, next, but don't want to buy another emblem.

I got my new BWT Mirage wheels put on at Big O today (sold my OEM alloys on ebay)....Big O broke one of my valve sensors...and had to go get me another one from the dealership....at their expense. They said I shouldn't have any issues with these wheels interfering with the TPMS but now my TPMS light is on-I drove the car about 20-30 miles after picking it up, city, just fine, then about 5 miles into interstate driving it came on....I don't know if this is gonna be an issue or not. I can deal with the light being on all the time if that's ALL it is...my actual guage that tells me if a certain tire is low etc isn't on, so hopefully I'm good. Anybody come across this issue? (have a 2010 sport)
