Future Fit Owner needs PRICING ADVICE

I'm planning on purchasing a Fit Base Automatic with window tint and the best quote I received was $16,800 OTD. I live in Houston so there is 6.25% tax. What do you think is a good price for my area? AND would it be a better idea to go with the Sport? The only options I really want is a security system and window tint. The fog lights, cruise control and media options aren't a big deal to me but I'm not sure if the extra money is worth it...
Thanks ahead of time!

Sport also has black interior, alloy wheels, usually an armrest, and a keyless entry. In my opinion, those options are worth the extra price.

that price looks pretty good to me. It's lower than Edmunds TMV pricing when you include the tax. I just bought a Fit in Little Rock and you'd probably save $50 if you came here, which wouldn't be worth it.

seems about right. i got a manual base OTD at 15,7 in texas.

Research the window tint before you get it. Depending on how long you own your car, you may want a warranty on a fadeless window tint.

2ndly, you probably want to get an aftermarket security system elsewhere. The posts at fit-freak indicate the Honda system is very limited. Ie. wheels will be taken without alarm going off.

I got tint and keyless-alarm from a local chain for total of $250.

Don't do the alarm or tint at the dealer. And don't have the alarm done by a tint guy. Best advice to give in general.

Honda dealers make around $600 on the car. They are typically not going to budge much on the car's price. Just be aware of add on's. If you are a AAA member, through their dealer association, usually they can save you a $100 on a Fit. A lot more on other models. Now that the Fit has been out for awhile, they might save you more. It cost about $45 to join your local AAA. If interested, go to aaa.com and enter your zip code.

any particular reason why?

Two different people worked on my car. 1 did the tint. another did the alarm.

Thank you so much everyone! I will be buying tomorrow, I decided to buy my Fit naked, with only window tint and pinstripe. I wanna be able to customize the rest of the options myself and I'm sure I'll find a great place to get everything from with the advice on these forums.

"In general" if you take the field by business description and have them do an alarm, the guys that specialize in that field will do a cleaner install with less issues and better reliability. Again "in general" tint people are not specialists in the alarm arena. Especially with the complexity of the bypass module business with remote starts. Just like car stereo guys are not tint guys. A majority of them have somebody from the outside come and do it on a appt. basis.

I dunno man, I got a $17,161 price for mine 2 months ago[came out to 18,777 after taxes]. I live in NY so its a 8.625% tax..

Oh but thats for a Fit Sport Automatic, not a base, so if you can get invoice for an automatic sport, i say go for it, its onliy like 400 more..

The price I was given is $16,800 drive out, so if he piles on anything else I'll go to another dealership who offered me $17,190 also out the door. He told me it included all taxes and fees.

Hey, just thought I'd throw in my .02.

Right now I have a quote for a Fit Sport AT at $16,099. This is before TTL, so out the door it should be around $18,200 after TTL and destination. I don't know if this is more or less than what others are paying, but that's what I'm looking at.
