Stop the window rattle!

Stop the window rattle!
Hey, I got tired of my front driver and passenger windows rattling when they are rolled down just a couple inches.
Maybe everyone has figured this out already but I think I found a fix.
I first pulled out the rubber track that the window runs in along the rear side of the window. There is a fold of this seal that runs along the inside of the window. I bought some 1/4" foam rubber weather stripping. Just clean the inside of this seal with some rubbing alcahol and stick in some weather stripping directly under the fold. Make sure that it sits under the fold so it is not actually visible in the track when everything is back in place. I went from about 4 inches from the top to almost the bottom of the window frame. It seems to just put enough pressure on the window th stop the rattle.
I'll update if there are any issues!
Update- It seems to have helped. I did see further improvement by adding the same weather stripping to the front of the window frame. Hope this helps.

Old thread, but a great fix. Can't believe it took me this long to search for anyone who had solved this problem. I did it yesterday and used the exact same material pictured by the OP. Found it was too wide and too thick though, made the windows roll up and down very slowly and sounded like it was hard on the window motor. Cut it into narrower strips and thinned it and that seemed to do the trick.

Tried this and didn't help much. Was going to get the window motor and assembly replaced and dropped the car to a mechanic. To my surprise, they solved the problem by just realigning and maybe tightening the driver's door without replacing anything at all. The rattle is completely gone now! So may be worth asking for that at your service shop.

can check another thread called: window motor and regulator assembly replacement... yada yada. although focuses on performing the service necessary to remedy the window rattle, it also shows components and more or less explains the nature and origin of the vibration. if you go to a shop, window motor and regulator assy. is what they'll replace. Honda may do just the regulator assembly.
regardless, if they do both or just the one your problem will be resolved. It may well come back in time, but only if fasteners loosen or the part fails again, or if a non-dealer mechanic installs a poor quality regulator assembly (the whole window lift mechanism).

You're welcome
That weather stripping idea isn't bad though and it would make sense to keep the plastic guide piece that holds the window glass to the single central rail upon which ithe window travels from breaking in the future. (will still wear out to be slightly loose from repeat usage.)
you know, so long as one was mindful fitment, so as to avoid straining the window motor or triggering its finger saver safety shut-off. And... if one lives in a place that gets below 32°f.. if water gets trapped in there by the weatherstrip before a freeze.. i assume it would be bad in some way.
