First Service

Hey Guys.....
I got about 2200 miles on my fit right now and my oil is at 50%... when would you suggest i take my car in for its first service? should i wait for the maintence minder or go before? i looked in the manual and it does not have any time table for service.
Thanks

that sounds a bit too soon to be at 50% so can someone else give an opinion on that?

My dealers exact words were "first servicing around 5000 kms or a year, whichever comes first"

From what I recall being posted here, you are ok down to 15 percent but probably should at least soon make the appt. because the next 50 percent will probably go a lot faster.

Yea I have 3700 miles on mine and my oil meter says 60%.

I am not planing on changing my oil until 5K miles or 20% which ever comes first.

Its all dependent on how you drive but when your oil meter gets to 20% I would def. get that oil out of there no matter how many miles the odometer says.

I waited until the maintenance inder came on at 15% which was at 10,500 miles. Honda said to follow the MM so I did.

The oil life must really depend on driving style. I have 4100 miles on mine and my oil is at 70%.

My dealer raised their eyebrows when I waited until 7k for the first service; they wanted me there at 5k (MM was at like 50% I believe)... It's hard for me to rely solely on MM. I probably won't let mine go much past 5k again between oil changes regardless of MM.

I've got 2k (miles) on mine, and the MM says 90% oil life...probably still take it in at 5k for oil change, though.
