Who has a Honda Fit AND an Apple iPhone?
Hello everyone, I'm just wondering how many people have the Honda Fit AND an iPhone and what configurations you have made to enjoy them both?
I myself just got an 09 Honda Fit Sport w/Navi and an iPhone 3G. Right now I switch between the USB connection and AUX to listen to music.
I'm afraid to leave the iPhone plugged in since the car might drain my phone's battery life.
I'm researching the many difference accessories for the iPhone that I can put into the Fit, does anybody have any good suggestions?
Thanks everyone!
G
P.S.: I put the white apple sticker on my car the first day I brought it home... LOL. Yes, I am a geek...

I have an iphone 3g and an 09 honda fit. I keep a flash drive on the usb full of music, while I keep my iphone connected to the aux. When I have a call, I answer it and click on AUX and I can hear my call thru the car speakers.
But I DONT use my iphone for music like most people, so Ive never had the draining issue.

That's pretty cool.
But to talk back don't you have to have the iPhone close to your mouth regardless? Guess it's just like a really awesome speakerphone, hehe.
Would be cool to integrate some sort of mic around the steering wheel for total hands free. Erm, well not total, you'd still have to touch the iphone to answer, etc.
Doesn't On Star do this? I know they have that feature in the Cadillac CTS
I have bluetooth installed in my fit, and the iPhone works awesomely with it.
Monster® iCarCharger 200 for iPod® and iPhone << I use this to charge and play music. Works perfectly in the iPhone 3G. When a call comes in, the iPhone mutes/pauses, the bluetooth tells me there is a call, and I press the bluetooth button, and I'm good to talk on the phone.
If anyone is interested in exact specifics, or photos, lemme know.

I have an 09 fit sport w/o navi and an iPhone3G. It works well enough with the USB interface, but unlike the aftermarket Sony head unit in my old car, the stock Honda iPod interface won't allow you to pause the music. I used this all the time so that I could play Pandora while still connected through the dock connector. Now I just use the aux to play Pandora, and the USB to play music stored on the iPhone. It is nice that I can listen to audio on the aux and plug in the USB to keep the phone charging, I just hate the wires going everywhere.
Having said all of that, I plan on installing one of the Pioneer AVIC -F series (or the new -X series) sometime in the next month or two though.

i have a 2009 fit sport and an iphone 3g. so far i haven't had any problems. i only plug it in to play music every once in a while. i suspect that it probably would kill the battery life of the iphone if i kept it plugged in all the time 'cause it's just like keeping your phone charged throughout the day.
you can leave your ipod plugged in and it won't drain the battery cause it only uses the ipod when the car is turned on. i leave my ipod in there all the time. i don't know though maybe the iphone is different.
iPhone works just like the iPod, no charging when the car is turned off. One thing to think about though, you may not want to leave your iPod in the car unattended if you expect the temp to get really hot or really cold. I have had an old iPod or two give me the "sad face" error screen for sitting in a hot car all day. Of course, YMMV.

I have an 09 Sport w/ Navi and the 16g iPhone 3G. I connect the iPhone to the car with a black USB cable (just looks better than the white Apple and it's less distracting). Like many others, I get the "Accessory Not Supported" message on the phone which goes away after a few seconds. I am then able to choose what I want to listen to directly from the Navi touchscreen. Obviously, the steering wheel controls also work.
Since I use playlists and listen mostly to podcasts, I don't really mind the rather slow scrolling speeds when trying to navigate to a particular artist. I have only very infrequent issues where the connection will fail between the phone and the car, and unplugging it and waiting a few seconds before I plug it back in always fixes the problem.
For calls I use a good bluetooth headset. I've toyed around with installing a Parrot kit, but I'm still recovering from the disappointing experience I had with my 2005 Element. The sound quality is horrible in both directions. They tell me it's because of the unique amp setup the EX's with the subwoofers had. I dunno - it was just a heck of a lot of money for something that didn't work well. I had better results in my WRX, but callers would still ask me to take them off speaker and use the handset. I may go with the new Honda bluetooth kit overhead...
For me, the USB plug, a good cable, the factory Navi and my iPhone are a great combination. I commute weekly from San Antonio to Houston and it fits all my needs.

it is. u just have to play all songs, then shuffle.
No, I'm talking about shuffle albums. Like it plays all songs from one album in order, then when that album's done, it randomly picks another album to play. It can only be activated by changing some code on a jailbroken iPhone.
I am wondering for those who have the iphone...I am buying a fit soon and I am wondering that if you have your iphone plugged into the usb connector and you are listening to music and you get a call....can it be answered? Can I talk through the car or do I need special connectors?
I am willing to buy a few minimal things to do this but I hate clutter. I also can't really use a bluetooth that fits in your ear because I wear hearing aids and therefore would love a handsfree option to answering calls. Does the nav offer any solutions?
Thanks for all of your help and loads of info!!
