- hey guys, on the new 09 fits, the mpg reader on the dash....i know it gives out inaccurate readings...but does it overstates or understates? and by how much?
- also, i noticed that we dont have a temp. needle...how would we know if the car over heats...actually how would we know if its getting close to overheating? i wouldnt want the red thermo to come on and it becomes too late...
- and once the blue thermo goes away, the car is totally warmed up? or is it best to wait another 2 mins or so?
- manual says break in period is 600 miles. is it smart to go over that and drive gently for hte first 800-1000 miles?
- lastly, i dont like the fuel cap...i dont know how sturdy is a push mechanism...i prefer either the in-car lever or the ones the GD has.
other than that, the fit is go.

if you are concerned, you can get a scanguage or other obdII scanner that can give real mpg and engine temperature.
as for warming up, I just start the car, give it a few seconds for the oil to pump through the system, then i go. IMO, you should be fine as long as you're not red-lining it when it's cold.

The light goes out when the coolant temp. reached 125F (according to Scanguage II), The engine is not fully warmed up until about 180F (once again according to Scanguage II).
