I just NOW realized that the JDM/ASIA DM GE8s are REALLY different than the USDM ones. My dad just bought a GE in Taiwan and it's essentially a left hand drive version of the JDM one. HOLY CRAP. The front end is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than ours!!! I NEVER noticed it!! I thought they were just styling differences!! THE ENTIRE HOOD AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS SHORTER!!! The hood is so much shorter in length and the engine compartment is also more compact!!!!

it really isn't that different, bumpers, bumper covers, hood, lights, some have right hand drive and a lot more options to choose from

 

Yep USDM GE8s have a really long nose vs. JDM...I'd say about 6 inches longer. So everything's different to match up to the longer nose: front fenders, bumper, headlights and hood.

If you look at a non-USDM GE8's engine bay you'll see it's really, really tight. The base of the windshield also confounds the tightness because it extends some way into the hood.
