IMO power never comes together with fuel efficiency. You can't have best of both worlds. Think about it!

unless its a vw diesel. performance chips for them usually increase torque/ hp slightly/ and fuel economy.


but thats turbodiesels so its a different ballpark.

 

These things have been junk since 2001 when I started working on cars.

 

These devices are nothing more than a resistor that tricks the ECU into richening the air fuel mixture. They do work to a certain extent, but at the expense of fuel economy.

 

The only power and fuel economy is usually a turbo. But you don't get all that power, AT THAT MOMENT, with fuel economy. Sorry....

I trippled my HP and my gas milage is about half... went from 20mpg to about 10mpg avg.

a chip for $24?? 300 hp for the fit? 85 mpg? BE realistic

 

They make your car feel more powerful by fooling your car into thinking you're at 100% throttle when you only have the gas pushed to 50% giving the illusion of extra power.

 

You guys have to be kidding me. 300 hp and 300 torque with 85% boost in FE on a Fit from a chip? LOL!!!

 

Just like throttle controllers that people pay $100+ for on here.
