Oil change without ramps?
#45
Lol I just said f' it and jammed a screwdriver through the filter and used that to take it off. First filter I couldn't get off by hand. And this one is in a hell of alot better position than the one on the tbird. Now that was a pia. But seriously who uses ramps? How the heck do you rotate tires with ramps?
exactly, take a sharp screw driver and tap it through the top of the filter, who needs a filter wrench
I use 2 wooden blocks to drive the front wheels of the fit on, just to lift it up 2-4 inches. i can get at the drain plug and filter easy from underneath.
oil change in 20 minutes on my 09 fit sport with Navi, mobil 1 5w20 and mobil 1 M 110 filter twice a yr

if you for some reason really dont want to use a jack it can be done. My mom changed the oil when I was not around by just being incredibly small. If you are too fat you can either lose some weight or drive onto uneven surface.

No need for ramps or jacks. Cut the wheels hard left and pull the emergency brake.
Remove the filter from the front. Put the breaker bar and socket on the oil drain plug from the front.
There is room in front of the driver side wheel to use your feet to apply torque to the breaker bar (kick).
Do everything else from the front.

I'd rather just jack the car up. I have a "low" profile floor jack, but it's still not low enough (especially with the Swifts). So, I use the factory scissor jack to lift on corner a bit, then use the floor jack to lift the whole front end. Pust the car on jack stands and take the jack out.
Sounds complicated, sure. But it makes seeing what I'm doing much easier.
Later, I'm going to get either a small floor jack to swap with the scissor. Or a much bigger floor jack to swap with my current floor jack, then move that to replace the scissor jack.
