Hardwire Palm Touchstone into 2010

Well, just finished up a long Saturday of installing the OEM center console and Handsfreelink bluetooth. This was the first project since I purchased the car on Monday. Pulling the A arms off the interior, cutting a whole in the headliner, and removing the center console was pretty fun 5 days into owning the car.

Next, I want to hardwire my Touchstone charger into the Fit. Anybody out there do this yet? If so, where did you mount it and how exactly did you hardwire it in? Instead of using the car charger, I'm thinking of going with the regular 12V charger, since the wire is thinner and will hide easier.

Would love any suggestions. Thanks!

Touchstone

I bought a power socket from a local auto parts shop for $5.99 and then drove 2 minutes down the street to my local auto sound dealer and had them install it for $35 under the dash. They plugged my Sprint brand car charger in and then fed the wire thru the backside of the dash into the little storage space behind the two cup holders under the radio. I was then able to plug the charger into the Touchstone that I bought on sale at Best Buy for $39.99. Fits perfect and has a very clean look. The automatic speaker works decent in the car as a hands free solution as well when sitting on the Touchstone in that location.

This was in my 2009 Storm Silver Sport with Nav.

Nice! So you're able to see and access the screen OK inside that compartment? I was initially thinking of velcro-ing it right next to the gear shifter, where your right knee usually ends up, but maybe I'll try your setup instead.

Touchstone

It fits great. I will try to get some pics up today, if the site allows. When on the Touchstone sideways it looks really great. I am thinking about doing some sort of cup holder mount as well to have better viewing ability, but I am pretty happy with it right now.

I know this is an old thread but curious if anyone else can comment on this? I was thinking about installing my touchstone in the cupholder below the driver's side vent, but not sure if it's practical. Anyone else tried to get their touchstone wired into the Fit?
