A friend of mine was a British Leyland dealer in St. Louis in the early '70s. He said they sweated every delivery because it was almost impossible to get everything working on a car so they could get it off the lot.
The reason this clown had to drive a Lincoln is that he couldn't find a Jag that would run.

Nah, he's right. It's a pretty crappy car. Reminds me of how cars used to be built so stiff that even a 45 mph accident would kill you because the steering shaft would impale you since it didn't collapse like in modern vehicles.
