Pre-mix fuel in the fit?

Hypothetically, what do you think would happen if someone were to fill a near-empty tank with a 2-gallon container of 50:1 pre-mix fuel and oil into their fit?

Not much. Some oil gets by the rings and is burned in all cars. Might foul the plugs if you ran it often. Smoke a bit. Just a guess.

Here are some rotary guys that seem to think it helps to oil up their wankels.

It might smoke a little. In the long term it might not be good for plugs, oxygen sensor, cat.
Is this REALLY a hypothetical question?

it would smoke alot...but i would fill the tank up with gas, and maybe put some injector cleaner in as well...then as soon as i would use a little gas, i would keep the tank full..to dilute the oil, until it quit smoking....we used to have to put premixed oil in our 4 stroke dirt bikes, when we would run out of regular gas, for some reason, our two stroke friends would burn less than us..

I'd put in a gallon with one fillup and another gallon at another fillup. Then it would be at least 300:1, or just enough to lube everything up nicely without killing the sensors or the cat.

Or top off your tank with a gallon after you've driven ~25-30 miles, then get a buddy to do the same.

If you're reasonable with the amount you put in, it won't have any effect on your car.

Ran out of gas and all you had handy was a tank for the boat?

I suspect it is not a hypothetical question but has happened and now the Fit is not quite Fitting along.

Maybe injector cleaner might help? I have no idea.

I think bad gas (it was for that boat they got rid of 5 years ago) is more likely than the 2cycle marine oil causing a problem at 50:1.

Maybe teamkitty is stranded on a desert island with a Fit and a can of boat gas.

I was actually going to try cutting the grass with my fit (custom blade attachment fitted to a power take off unit) and wanted to see if i could use the same gas for all of my power equipment.

At the end of mowing season I pour the remainder of my mixed gasoline in a full tank (less than 1/2 gallon) to get rid of it in an environmentally friendly fashion. I don't think this small amount of oil has any adverse effect. If I wanted to add oil to my fuel on a regular basis (I don't), I would use ::Marvel Mystery Oil:: .

Thank you spreadhead, that is actually the same reason I asked.

I had actually already done this and posted after the fact to see what others thought and to get a kick out of what I assumed were going to be the typically over-reactive expert opinions (your engine's gonna blow!). I was wrong, as most of you predicted exactly what happened to my fit after adding the premix before I created this post: absolutely nothing.

If you then filled the tank with gasoline, not a thing. you might see a little smoke in your exhaust but no harm will be done. A 50:1 mixture diluted even futher by gasoline is not a problem.
