I bought the factory floor mat a year ago. I never installed the anchors because I did not want to cut the carpet. It does slide up and I have to pull it back once in a while.
After hearing the Toyota recall about the floor mat interferes with gas and brake pedals, I finally decide to install the anchors this morning.
I read the instructions many times to make sure I understand before I made the first cut. It was pretty easy to install. And I feel a lot better with the mat anchored properly.
If you have not installed the mat anchors yet, just want to let you know that it is easy to install. And it is not such a big deal to cut the carpet a little.

 

Bump! People need to do this, it's not worth the risk.
