'09 Fit Sport MT remote door lock not working
Of course, now that the bumper to-bumper-portion of my warranty is about 4,000 kms (yeah, I'm in Soviet Kanuckistan) past its best-before date something like this was bound to happen:
Went to lock my doors this morning using the key fob, only to find that the usual click followed by the beep and accompanied by flashing park light did not occur.
The key fob unlocks the doors just fine, but will not lock them. I had to insert the key into the door lock to do this, and with this method the central locking feature works just fine. The glitch persisted with the spare key, so I know the problem is with the sensor on the car rather than with the key.
Has anybody else had this issue? If so, where is the sensor located, how expensive is it to buy from Honda, and what would be the expected labor hours to replace it? I'll do it myself if I can, unless Honda's estimate for parts and labor is reasonable.
Thanks!

can the fob lock the doors, even if there is a key inside of the ignition? (can't be done on my subaru, I have to lock the door mechanically if there is a key in the ignition)
if this is the same for the fit, then maybe the ignition thinks there is a key inserted, which is then purposely disabling the wireless lock function.
It doesn't make sense to me that the wireless sensor is the culprit, since it does react to the unlock button.

It won't lock if any of the computer thinks one of the doors is ajar. Most likely culprit is the door really is ajor or a problem with the latch/sensor on one of the doors causing the computer to believe it's ajar.
2009 Honda Fit: Fi(s)t Full of Trouble
First thing to try is open/close all of the doors and the rear hatch.

Ok, problem solved. I'd checked the hatch and both front doors this morning for a door ajar condition (even though the warning light wasn't illuminated) but found nothing amiss. But then I remembered that our daughter went out for dinner with us last night and that she'd exited via the right-hand rear door. So I checked that one just now.
The door did not appear to be ajar, but I opened and closed it anyway. Voila! the key fob now locks the doors as advertised.
Lesson learned: Just because the door ajar light isn't illuminated that doesn't mean the doors are properly closed. I pulled the door slightly open again to check this and the light came on, so it appears that the sensors that lock the doors are more sensitive than the door-ajar circuitry is.
Thanks everyone for all your help.
