manufactuers only sell you a car that going to last you five years if you go by the maintance minder

 

Gas and oil has come a long way your car will last longer if you go by the minder. If you change the oil at every 3k the additives dont even start to work and the moly on the pistons will drain out before it coats the engine. There is no sulphur in the oil and gas now so there is a longer drain period. With sythetics you could almost go indefinitely with filter changes.
