$650 for a non factory look? For a lot less, get a self powered Bazooka Tube which can be removed easily when you need to carry stuff. As far as the condescension, take your business, elsewhere where it will be appreciated.

That guy was a Schmuck, plain and simple. If all you want is a little more bass and are relatively happy with the mids and highs, get an add-on sub. I've had the Basooka self powered tubes before and was very happy. It's relatively small and produces decent sound. Adding on a Head unit will do wonders... IF (BIG IF) you upgrade the speakers and add Amps. The Fit's speakers are pretty good and can handle a decent Head unit up to a certain point, but in my opinion, if you are going to go aftermarket Head unit, you'll want to go Aftermarket speakers at least, then you'll still want a sub as replacement 6.5" speakers in the door locations won't give you the lows to fill out the cabin.

As for the audio quality of the Fit, This is the first car I haven't desperately wanted to replace the Head unit. I'm usually the First to say upgrade the HU first and then do the rest later but in this case, get a Sub first and then upgrade the rest later.

Depending on how handy you are, you may be able to do it yourself. The toughest part is getting the power and signal wires to the sub from the front of the car and it's not tough, just takes a little bit of time. You could get away with as little as $250 for a decent sub and the install if done yourself. Check other audio shops too and ask them what a Basslink or Basooka installed would run, as you've got to get the wires too, but I wouldn't think you would be charged more than $150 for the install, including wires (not including the SUB).

PS. Crutchfield has a Decent selections with free or low shipping. PM me for a Referral code which is good for $20 off a first time purchase if you decide to go with them. I've been very happy with their service/support.

The same thing happened to me when I bought mine concerning the pinstripping. The first thing I did when I got home with the car was bust out the hair dryer and started the removal. It was surprisingly easy compared to the 13 year old pinstripe I removed from my other car.

I have no idea who actually likes pin stripes or who would actually pay extra for it.

That and my dealership didn't follow Honda instructions and screwed the license plate holder straight through the front of the bumper.

Has anybody had any experience with refinishing a panel which has been pinstriped? Suppose you need to repaint the entire panel. Then you would either need a new piece of identical pinstripe tape, or you would have to apply the pinstripe with a painting technique. My guess is that the paint approach would not give a perfect result.
It really ticks me off when dealers add on those pinstripes. They usually tack on another $100 or so to the sticker, although I am sure the process of striping is extremely inexpensive.

The pinstripe is just a vinyl sticker which can be purchased and installed on the blank panel. Much like those vinyl aftermarket car part manufacturer stickers used on race/show cars.
