Brand Spanking New Fit

I just traded in my 1999, chipped windshield, oil burning, smoke spewing, overheating while sitting at traffic lights, 193,000 mile, POS Saturn SL1 for a 2010 TWB base MT Honda Fit. WOOHOO!!! When I drove it off the dealer lot at 5:15 pm this afternoon, it had 5 (count 'em, 5) miles on it. Bedtime reading tonight? The 2010 Honda Fit Owner's Manual.

I was a little concerned about the leg room from my test drive. However, on the drive home, it became clear that while I don't have extra room, I have ample room. I was able to program a Sport Fit replacement key so that I now have keyless entry. Next step: putting in the arm rest console. Any other suggestions?

Tint rear half - get a compact air horn - take it smooth first 600Mile and get to understand Honda's approach to service - enjoy the ever increasing MPG's you'll see - WELCOME K_C

Congrats! love the twb! I suggest changing out the wimpy horn to the Accord horn, totally makes a difference.

I left out that the air conditioning was non-functional and the front passenger window was broken. The only way to keep it from overheating in slow traffic was to run the heat full-blast. Not good in Florida.

I have a question about the locking gas cap: it fits in the holder that's on the gas cover, doesn't it?

I'm thrilled with the Fit. TWB is a great color for Florida.

Another question: if I get the windows tinted, do I still need the window visors? I don't want to spend stupid money.

At 193,000 miles, the Saturn did not owe you anything. That said, you will love your Fit, probably for more miles than the Saturn ran.

Not sure about locking gas cap. but that dealy is for the cap to fit into and the visors allow you to keep windows open a bit for ventilation. Totally independent from tint but do add to the 'cool' factor.

But, what's up with no AC and a broken window on a car with 5 miles on it??? Smells fishy to me. You actually bought it that way???

I like the window visors because it keeps the sun out of my eyes without having to flip the interior sun visor over. And yes, I have tint. The visors make it that much darker. Love em.

Get some bungee tie down straps for the back cargo area to hold down loose stuff that you want to transport, as well as, a storage box for some really small stuff. Get some durable matching seat covers and steering wheel cover for future possible damage. Also, get some real heavy mats if none came with the car.

Remember milk crates? I have a double size in the back and it's a perfect size for two grocery bags plus.

I went to HD and bought a chunk of the outdoor matting that comes in rolls, heavy rubber backing tight black/grey material face. I cut/trimmed it to custom fit the rear cargo area. A very clean solution. Keeps the crate from sliding around perfectly.

Also went w/ Honda all season floor mats - very pleased with them. CollegeHillHonda Can't beat the pricing for the real deal.
