Ipod question with I tunes update , no sound !

I've just upgraded to the latest I tunes and after synching my Nano gen 5 Ipod it won't play thru the connector , no volume ! It shows the right song , artist etc . but I get no sound . I attached my wifes Ipod to it and it works fine ( she hasn't updated to I tunes lates version .) Is there a fix for this , Thx in advance .

You might want to try a hard reset of the iPod. You don't lose the content of the iPod. Mine will sometimes drop its volume to a very, very low level on the line-out. I think you hold the top and center buttons together for about 10 seconds to reboot it. If not those, then bottom and center. When it starts to reboot you'll see the Apple logo.

Thanks very much !

That worked well , I wasn't aware that the Ipod would do that .
The headphone level sounded fine . I'll remember for the future .
It is the top and middle buttons , also.

You're welcome! Now I know it's not just my iPod generation that's doing it.

Dear Apple,

Please fix this bug.

It's not really a bug per se, so Apple can't really fix it. All computers, which in essence the iPod is, need a full reboot from time to time, as ALL computer operating systems write bad files from time to time, and then they start to pile up, and need to be rebooted, which usually clears out the corrupt files, which may give you odd behaviors like your no sound problem.
