Question Fit Sport '09 brake pedal clicking sound

I have an Automatic 2009 Fit Sport with about 6000 miles on it. A few days ago I started hearing a clicking sound every time I press the brake pedal. It's quite faint, but it is progressively becoming annoying. I'm 99.99% sure this clicking noise was not there before because I pay extreme attention to details like this.

I also called my dealer and they said this clicking sound is normal. But if it is, why wasn't it there before?

Does anyone know if this is normal? And what I can do to get it fixed? The car's still under warranty, so shouldn't the dealer fix it?

Thanks,
Ralph

Have the dealer check it out. I don't hear any clicking when I use my brakes, at just over 7,000 miles on my 09 sport. Not normal. My advise, check it out.

Does it happen when the car is near stopped or as soon as you touch the brakes?

I have a 2009 MT, and got the same problem, it appear each time that I switch between back and forward as something is loose in my brake set. I cant define for sure what corner is, but I read one guy that decide to check and give some maintenance to his brake drums and solved. I change my front brake 2month ago and so those are new and in a good shape. Then the problem has to be between my rear brakes, but I don't know how to remove the fok..! drums

Unhappy

Thanks for all of your replies. I took my car to the dealer, they "checked" it and found nothing out of order. I'm honestly not convinced by this assessment, since the clicking sound is still there and was not there before.

This clicking sound only happens once every time I depress the brake pedal. It does not occur when fully depressed, but as soon as a press it instead. The sound seems to be coming from the pedal itself or somewhere close (like under the steering wheel). It's a similar sound to when you press the top of a ballpoint pen to use it.

Does this provide any clues?

I'm quite disappointed that my service "did not find anything", when the sound is clearly audible - unless the repair tech is deaf or listening to music.

What would you recommend I do?

Thanks again.

its the brake interlock for you automatic shifter. it keeps you from being able to shift from a certain gear unless you depress the brakes.

Thanks for your reply. But is this clicking sound normal? It was never there before and my dealer seems to have turned a blind eye. What should I do?

Is it the brake interlock, or maybe just the relay for the brake switch. I haven't paid attention to it in the Fit, but it's not unusual to hear the relay click in low-end cars.

My mother's Cr-V makes the same *click* around the steering column. Been doing it since new and its most likely the interlock which would be normal.

yes the clicking sound is normal. if you dont believe me, then try to shift the tranny from park without touching the brake. then tap the brakes until you hear the sound and try to shift from park again. you will notice the button in the shifter lets you go farther and depress it after you hear the click.
