2010 bug deflector noise

I'm getting a fair bit of wind noise coming off my bug deflector. It was installed at the dealer when I purchased my fit. Is wind noise normal? Could it be misinstalled or need adjustment? Its pretty irritating.

Think of of it like those "deer whistles" only effective against mooskeetoes_LOL

Welcome - it's fun in here.

I have one and no noticeable wind noise. I guess you could take it off to see if that is really the source.

Where did you get your Fit? I stayed at the Chimo across from the dealer on St Laurant in May and was checkeing them out. A lot of FIts in Ottawa is seemed.

One of these could be yours - lol

It seems to me that bug deflectors change the air flow to keep bugs from hitting the wind shield. In that sense, it seems reasonable that some noise would come from it as it is creating turbulence. I couldn't say if it would be acceptable noise or not.

This Fit can from the Kanata dealer, in the western part of Ottawa.

I didn't notice any wind noise when I test drove the car, and I can't imagine they could sell these things if they make apprecialbe amounts of noise.

Has anyone installed one of these before? Is there anyway it could be incorrectly installed? I'm up for servicing soon and I'll drill the technicans at Honda. I do like the look of it, but I will likely take it off if there is no remedy.

I have a hood deflector on my car and get the same whistling noise. It only whistles when it is very windy outside and I'm driving on the highway.

A few people have bought some sort of thick rubber and wedged it in between the hood/deflector. They said it stopped the noise.

After driving with it for two plus years already like that, I've grown used to it. Only passengers notice it. I've grown immune to it, lol.

I know where that dealer is. Drove by on way home. Must be some sort of mistake when installing to be that bad.
