what's with the hybrid wheels for canadian Fit models?

I was back in my hometown in Vancouver, BC, and saw this Fit with the hideous looking hybrid wheels. For a moment I thought the driver got it from another honda hybrid insight, but realize later that the "hybrid" wheels are std on the DX model.

Honestly, I have those similar wheels on the toyota prius, honda insight, and it is just plain ugly... what is honda canada thinking? I know it is an economy entry level car for Honda, but you don't have to resort to making the car look even more cheap! Look at KIA, and Hyundai, these guys are resorting to making their entry level cars more sporty and well-equipped for a lower price than Honda cars...

Laugh at it all you want. Those wheels are super light. I bought aftermarket wheels right after I bought my Fit. Basically drove the car home from the dealer and then to the tire shop the next morning. When winter rolled around, I made the decision to put the stock wheels back on. Holy carp, what a difference in performance and mileage. It isn't pretty, but I love the benefits so much, I don't mind them at all. Plus..........it's so easy to clean, LOL.

I think Honda Canada made the right choice.

What's the point of this hate thread?

I like these wheels. In fact I've had many offers from people who want buy mine but I'm not selling them.

They're stock on the LX not the DX which has steel wheels with covers.

From your signature picture. Anyone got a close-up of the wheel? What size is the wheel?

Tires and rims are Made in Japan. At least the ones that came on my Fit LX. The tires are low rolling resistance Dunlops. As for weight, I haven't had a chance to weigh them. I've searched, but no luck.

Yes that's the correct tire size so the rims are 15".

I love the "hybrid" LX wheels, they go well with the sharp lines of the fit and makes it look a bit futuristic, expecially with the light blue color.

It looks much better than the same wheels on the civic lx. Sadly we took a DX with ac (basically loosing the rims, cruise control and door locks), because they were the only 2009 left (2000$ rebate).

And the fit isn't sport, for me sport rims look ridicoulous on it. I like old school rims too but they don't match with the modern look of the fit.

I must find insight mk1 or civic VX wheels for my '87 civic , and lx wheels for my mom's fit.

Hey guys, I need to find some wheel center caps for these ''hybrid'' wheels from the LX model. Honda sells them for 65$ each! I don't want to pay that much! I've been looking without any luck!
please help! thanks!

I like those wheels, and I wish we could get them on a Fit here in the states.

I like the wheels too, and would like to somehow find a set. Someone needs to run a Canada to US wheel-train!

Not a fan myself, but those who have them probably laugh at us with our heavier less fuel efficient sport rims.
